Eat the meat and spit out the bones!
A lesson that we all should learn,
For when we read and study all,
We should hold fast to what is firm.

The writings of the greats and near-greats,
They can be a source of inspiration,
But even they have made mistakes,
And sometimes need correction.

So let us not be too quick to judge,
But rather seek the truth with care,
For even those who stumble and fall,
May still have words that we can share.

The Holy Spirit is our guide,
And the scriptures are our light,
But other voices can enrich our lives, 
If we choose to listen right.

So let us eat the meat and spit out the bones,
And hold fast to what is good,
For when we read and study all,
We'll find the truth, as we should.
