The Pristine Grace Scripture software has been in development since 1998 and has been tweaked as needed throughout the years. It originally started as a perl script for flat files, but eventually was transformed into a php script for accessing a database. It has seen its home on four different domains. It was first found on bornagain.net, then rewritten for 5solas.org, and then later moved to Predestinarian Network before finding its eventual home here on Pristine Grace.
This application is provided free of charge to anyone and everyone. It has been designed for the purpose of obtaining quotes to be pasted into documents, e-mails, or social media.
The default translation is the King James Version (KJV). However, I have included a few other translations in the software for the purpose of study and comparison.
John Gill's Commentary has also been included, and it provides usually superb opinion and comments about each verse of the entire Bible. It is my opinion one of the best commentararies for the Scriptures that has ever been written. Of course Gill isn't right about everything, and I don't agree with him on a number of things such as his premillennialism, but I can recommend him for many topics, most notably his firm understanding of the Gospel and the doctrine of Salvation.
Please note, the inclusion of a translation in this application is not an endorsement of that translation. It is there only for comparative purposes. In general, you can't go wrong with the KJV, but I also use the MKJV, NASB, and the LITV in my studies.
I hope you enjoy using the software... - Brandan
