There Is No Middle Ground

There are only two alternatives: either God rules over all things or He does not. There is no middle ground. If God rules, then He is God indeed, but if He does not rule, then He is not God and someone else rules. Is it man? Is it the devil? Either God is sovereign over everything, including man and his will, or else man and his will is sovereign over God. Either God is sovereign over all things, including the devil and his will, or else the devil and his will is sovereign over God. Either God dominates, or He is dominated; either God reigns or is reigned over; either God controls all things, or something controls God. Rather than listen to what men say about the authority of God, why not take heed to what the Word of God says. “For I know that the LORD is great, and that ourLord is above all gods. Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did He in heaven, and in earth, in theseas, and all deep places” (Psalm 135:5-6).
