When the environment is loud, busy, and rapidly engaged in many directions it is easy to miss details and be overwhelmed. When all that noise ends suddenly it’s like a dreamy peacefulness, like when a room full of kids go outside and you can hear the hum of a ceiling fan.
The same thing is true when we spend so much time reading and hearing theological and “religious” fodder. It’s impossible to focus on the truth. When we flush the noise we are left with the glorious peace of God’s word that instructs us. And then we see and are at rest.
When we don’t have peaceful rest in the midst of the battle, we are thinking too highly of our own inclusion and fail to see that we could be part of the noise.
Be quiet. God is God.
