John wrote in I John 3:1, "BEHOLD!" Take notice, with wonder and astonishment, what matchless, amazing and wonderful love the Father has given freely and graciously to us, "THAT WE SHOULD BE CALLED SONS OF GOD." This is the privilege and blessing that exceeds all others. Because our Lord loved us and gave Himself for us,children of wrath are now children of love, rebels and traitors are now sons, enemies are now sons of God and joint-heirs with Christ. How can we comprehend such love and grace? This is our song of rejoicing now and ever shall be. "THEREFORE THE WORLD KNOWS US NOT, BECAUSE THE WORLD KNEW HIM NOT." The reason the people of this world do not recognize and acknowledge us as the children of God is because they do not know God. "He was in the world and the world knew Him not."

     Though the world does not recognize us as sons of God, though our present condition is very short of God's glory, though our bodies are flesh and old age and death are before us, though we are subject to many miseries, temptations, and trials, though we are aware of the sin and evil which still dwell within us, "NOW,"at this very moment, WE ARE THE SONS OF GOD." It would be foolish to estimate what we shall be by what we are now. "But we know that when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is."
