The Pharisees, they thought they knew
The way to God, the way to do
What pleased Him most, and earn His favor
By keeping rules, and being a neighbor
But they missed the point, of grace and love
They thought they could earn it, from above
But it's not about what we can do
It's about what Christ has already done for us, and is true
Sovereign grace, it's not about us
It's about God's great love, and His trust
In sending His Son, to die for our sin
And rise again, to make us new within
The Pharisees, they couldn't see
The truth of grace, it was hidden from me
But now I see, by faith I know
That Christ has saved me, and I am whole
No longer bound, by laws and rules
I am free, to live by His grace and truth
To love others, and share His love
And live in peace, with God above
So let the Pharisees, keep their ways
I'll follow Christ, and sing His praise
For His sovereign grace, it sets me free
And fills my life, with joy and glee.
